Which Air Ambulance Service do I Choose?

Following is a comparison of Enloe Flightcare and PHI Mercy Air

ENLOE FLIGHTCARE

Equipment:  Helicopter

Flies at an average speed of 135 mph

Area of Service: 75 miles

The FlightCare Program grew out of the need to rapidly transport patients from the growing mountain communities of Chester, Quincy and Greenville to Enloe

Cost: Group Plan - $25/family

Insurance:  Enloe Medical Center will bill a member’s insurance plan, if any, but will not bill the member-patient for any remaining balance.

It will not compensate or reimburse another ambulance company for providing emergency transportation

to you or your family. This may occur when the “911 Emergency System” has independently determined that another company could provide more expeditious service or is next in the rotation to receive a call.

This might also occur when Enloe

FlightCare is unable to perform within a medically appropriate timeframe due to severe weather, a maintenance issue, we cannot land is the area of the accident or the 911 dispatcher may not know that you are a member of Enloe FlightCare.

Why should I be a member of an air ambulance service?

As a member of any air ambulance service you choose your membership protects you from the high cost of air ambulance transport if the service you selected is the one called at the time of your emergency. The primary purpose for your membership is to support the selected air ambulance service and local community emergency services. Your membership helps offset the high cost of providing medical air transport to you, your family and friends and helps to purchase equipment and medical supplies. Your membership helps to insure that these services remain available to our area.
